What is an Expedition ?
An expedition is something a bit more special and conjures up a number of exciting possibilities that ‘normal’ travel doesn’t… it allows you to totally immerse yourself in an unfamiliar culture or environment. It teaches you how to work in a team, overcome adversity and become self-sufficient. It is a physical and mental challenge (to varying degrees) and gives a global perspective on life.
How’s the Accommodation ?
During Himalayan Expeditions, Mostly we offer 3-star hotels accommodation with breakfast during the city stays. This can be vary and can be customized. During an expedition, you will get tea house accommodation to tents and other survival kits and tools depends on the nature of the expedition and the availability of the region.
What clothing should I pack for one of your expeditions?
It will vary widely depending on where and when you are traveling. Our ‘Trip Details’ document includes a suggested gear and most of the expeditions includes the main survival equipment’s which you needs to return back after the program. The checklist is tour specific and based upon the experience of our ground staff.
What happens in case of an emergency?
The safety of our crew is our number one priority. If a fellow member in your group needs to descend, then an assistant guide would go with them. We have lots of support staff on the trek, so the person descending would be well looked after, and won’t impact on the rest of the group’s experience. In a serious case, evacuation would be by helicopters (depending on the nature of the expedition, availability and the weather condition of the region).
