Today morning, you will climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Get amazed by the Beauty of Sigiriya Fortress, stands majestically overlooking the luscious green jungle surroundings. Sigiriya Ancient rock fortress is surrounded by an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs, and structures. Also the ancient legendary paintings (frescos) of Beautiful ladies and mirror wall with poems make Sigiriya a dreamland sky palace.
Then you will be heading towards the Blue ribbon in the Eastern edge of the Island. The first stop will be Trincomalee.
If time permits, visit the Kanniya Hot Water Springs which are believed holy and with magical water that is giving healing effect for Arthritis and Rheumatic problems.
Trincomalee is well renowned as one of the world’s largest deep-water anchorages. The former Dutch Fort Frederickisa breathtaking cliff, topped by the Koneswaram Hindu Temple, which is one of the holiest Shiva shrines in the Island. The Colourful Hindu temples add glamour and speaks volumes about Hindu culture.
Optional: Nilaveli is an unspoiled beach just outside Trincomalee where you can not only swim or sunbathe but go diving, snorkeling or watch Whales in their natural environment.
The next stop will be the village of Passikudah which is blessed with Golden Beaches. The seas with clear and shallow waters allow you to can wade 50m out to sea. Passikudah virgin beach is well known for its beauty.
If you are a scuba diver, there are some excellent diving spots for you and, wreck of the HMS Hermes, a WW2 British naval ship will be a delightful expedition. You can have wildlife experience by exploring the Maduru Oya National Park where you will have a good chance of seeing elephants.
Today, you will be heading to the Arugam Bay, which is considered to be one of the world’s best surfing spots. En-route to Arugam Bay, you will pass the Fort city of Batticaloa. The colonial fort with the lagoon view is undoubtedly a place worth a visit. The buildings belonging to old Dutch-era, temples and churches make you feel a time in the colonial history.
Arugam makes an amazing surf point since it receives the same Antarctic winter swells that hit Indonesia’s southern shores during midyear times. Months from May to November are best for surf lovers when the strong wind is offshore for the first half of the day.
Today, you will be heading to Kandy, the serene hill station .Kandy is the small lakeside city touched with the classical delights and with real natural exquisiteness. Afternoon, visit Temple of Tooth Relic, the most iconic Buddhist where tooth Relic of Lord Buddha is enshrined since 4th Century AD. The temple is beautified with decorative walls, a golden roof and fine walls. Daily servings with traditional music and drumming bring traditional and peaceful vibes.
Last Day spent in a classical, serene city will be a colorful additional to your long Beach Holiday.
